Evince

Sometimes we want to see, in order to believe
The immensities of God among the down trodden.
Sometimes we want to be, in order to believe
Called beloved children in spite of hearts rotten.
Sometimes we want to free, in order to believe
Ourselves to a liberty from many hopeless walkers.

Sometimes philosophy, in order to believe
Cannot reveal a beauty of the heavenly hidden.
Sometimes morality, in order to believe
Falls short of Godly justice like purgatory laden.
Sometimes the scholarly, in order to believe
Trust within their folly yet sadly die deceived.

Sometimes though life is quite the opposite
Where peace runs like a river strong
Where the invitation is His belong
Where revelation begets reverence throng
And nothing was said to receive it.

Sometimes its better to hold one's peace
Until the glory of a desert rain come
Until the spring time gives its blossom plumb
Until we to Christ's inheritance succumb
And nothing was said to receive it.
